ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board, at its meeting of February 9, 1993, adopted an ordinance to establish a program that allows private citizens to support the Lake County Division of Transportation's anti-litter efforts, by allowing groups to adopt a section of County Highway for the purpose of litter collection and has revised it from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board deems it in the public interest to include provisions for sending electronic mail notifications, extending the open application time period, clarifying that Lake County will provide a safety training video, authorizing single or multi-family group participation, and adding additional language governing the name or acronym of the group to be placed upon their Adopt-A-Highway sign.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that the Lake County Board hereby adopts the following revision to the Lake County Adopt-A-Highway Ordinance to be effective upon passage in accordance with Public Act 87-1118, Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 605, Act 120 and the resulting codified version is attached.
