Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) received an increase in grant funding through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), for the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Services (CABS), Intensive Placement Services program in the amount of $41,240. The period of performance is July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY24 is $17,183. The difference has been accounted for in the LCFY25 budget. The purpose of the funding is to support the development of a cohesive system that addresses not only academic needs but also mental health, behavioral health, and overall wellness of young individuals. This will continue to fund a new Counselor position and supplies.

To approve the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Child and Adolescent Behavioral Services, Intensive Placement Services grant funding increase of $41,240 and emergency appropriate $17,183 for LCFY24.
