Staff Summary
· The Des Plaines River WRF is a major wastewater treatment plant that provides service for the Villages of Buffalo Grove, Hawthorn Woods, Lake Zurich, Long Grove, Lincolnshire, Riverwoods and unincorporated portions of Southeast Lake County.
· Major equipment in the facility has reached the end of its useful life and requires rehabilitation.
· This project will include equipment replacement and rehabilitation, as well as the addition of a new clarifier tank.
· The County received bids from six contractors for this work ranging from $4,688,000 to $5,249,000.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Boller Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $4,688,000.
· This resolution authorizes the Purchasing Agent to execute a contract with Boller Construction Company, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois for the Des Plaines River WRF Phase II A Improvements Project in the amount of $4,688,000.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility in the Southeast Lake Facilities Planning Area; and

WHEREAS, the Des Plaines River WRF is a major wastewater treatment facility that provides service to the Villages of Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods, Long Grove, Riverwoods, Lincolnshire and unincorporated portions of Southeast Lake County and major equipment has reached the end of its useful life requiring replacement and rehabilitation; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility Phase II A Improvements Project; and
