Hawthorn Woods - Glennshire Water System Project Status Report (Information only)
Staff Summary
• The low bid for construction of improvements came in at $2,609,710 which is considerably lower than the engineer’s estimate of $4,349,351.
• The lower project costs will result in a reduced cost to residents with a lump sum payment established at $11,600 per home and the surcharge payment estimated at $87 per month per home.
• A "draft" version of the Bond Ordinance and the Surcharge Rate Ordinance have been prepared. These two ordinances will be presented to the PWT Committee for consideration on October 7, 2009 with subsequent County Board consideration on October 13, 2009.
• A letter to the homeowners notifying them of these costs and establishing a deadline for the one time lump-sum payments was mailed on August 31, 2009. The deadline for the lump sum payment will be September 30, 2009.
