Resolution providing for the appointments of J. Kevin Hunter as Lake County's representative and Linda Pedersen as Lake County's alternate representative to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Consolidation Committee.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in 2022, as the next phase in 9-1-1 and emergency dispatch consolidation, nine governmental entities partnered through an Intergovernmental Agreement ("Planning IGA") to, "develop an Implementing Intergovernmental Agreement ("Implementing IGA") that establishes a NEW CONSOLIDATED PSAP in Lake County, Illinois to replace and consolidate the PSAPs operated by the Parties to this Agreement."; and
WHEREAS, the Planning IGA initially provided that the PSAP Consolidation Committee shall be comprised of one representative from each PSAP in the agreement, as well as an alternate who may serve in the absence of the primary representative; and
WHEREAS, Lake County agreed to be the Executive Agent for this project for the purpose of hiring and paying a Project Manager, entering into contracts, making payments, and for receiving the initial financial contributions to this project and other revenue, and will create a special segregated fund (the "Regional PSAP Consolidation Fund") for such purposes; and
WHEREAS, on January 16, 2024, Lake County became a full Party to the Planning IGA through Amendment 1; and
WHEREAS, your Chair requests that this County Board confirm the appointment of J. Kevin Hunter as Lake County's representative to the PSAP Consolidation Committee for a term beginning immediately and ending when the PSAP Consolidation Committee is disestablished; and
WHEREAS, your Chair requests that this County Board confirm the appointment of Linda Pedersen as Lake County's alternate representative to the PSAP Consolidation Committee for a term beginning immediately and ending when the PSAP Consolidation Committee is disestablished.
