• The WIOA PY 25 Formula Grant budget is $8,516,791 with a grant term of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027.
• The WIOA Formula Grant has three funding streams: youth, adults and dislocated workers; serving high school students, disconnected youth, unemployed and underemployed adults, dislocated workers and incumbent workers; in addition to small businesses and key industries.
• The WIOA Formula grant funds Workforce Development Department and Job Center personnel and operations and employment and training services including client tuition, training wages and employer training grants.
• If funding for the services ends, and new funding is not secured, the services will be eliminated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has provided a Program Year (PY) 2025 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding notice totaling $8,516,791 to the Workforce Development Department with a grant term of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the WIOA Grant includes funding for programs serving high school students, disconnected youth, unemployed and underemployed adults, dislocated workers, and incumbent workers; and
WHEREAS, the WIOA Grant funds client tuition, training wages, and employer training grants; in addition to Workforce Development and Job Center personnel and operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the WIOA PY 25 Formula Grant is hereby approved and an emergency appropriation in the amount of $8,516,791 in the County Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
