Joint resolution establishing rates for the Lake County Sheriff Deputies working off-duty; “Special Detail”, for private business, individuals and government units.
Staff Summary
· The hourly rate for special detail patrol shall be $60 per hour until December 1, 2009.
· The rate paid to the Deputy personnel will change from time and a half to a fixed rate of $38 per hour.
· The rate for command working a command required detail will change from time and a half to a fixed rate of $41.80 per hour. Command posts are only contractually required on 4% of all special details worked.
· These rates were reviewed by staff from the Sheriff’s Office, the County Administrator’s Office and Finance and Administrative Services.
· These rates will be reviewed annually to assure costs are being recovered.
Body
WHEREAS, off duty “Special Detail” are those assignments established between the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and private business, individuals and governmental units within the County of Lake, and which are not part of the normal watch function; and
WHEREAS, effective May 1, 2008 the current rate for special detail patrol is $78 per hour; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office and the County Administrator’s Office have agreed this rate shall fix the rate paid to the employees working the special detail patrol to better recover actual costs; and
WHEREAS, a single rate system will be made effective the date of this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office and the County Administrator’s Office will review these rates annually to assure actual costs are being recovered and can be increased if agreed upon by the Sheriff’s Office and the County Administrator’s Office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that:
1. The hourly rate for special detail patrol shall be $60 per hour effective April 14, 2009 through November 30, 2009
2. The hourly rate will be adjusted every December 1 to assure all costs are being recovered...
