Staff Summary

·      The rate ordinance establishes user rates and connection fees for the County's water and sewer systems.

·      The ordinance is revised periodically to modify rates and fees, as necessary.

·      The proposed revisions increase the sewer rate for the Northeast Central Service Areas from $4.81 per 1,000 gallons to $4.88 per 1,000 gallons as a result of a rate increase by the North Shore Sanitary District (NSSD), and the Arbor Vista sewer rate from $5.92 to $6.92 per 1,000 gallons based on a $0.07 increase by NSSD and a $0.93 increase by the Village of Grayslake.

·      In addition, the ordinance increases the South Central sewer rate from $35.68 per month to $39.68 per month for un-metered sewer and from $4.46 to $4.96 per 1,000 gallons for metered users as a result of a rate increase by the Village of Libertyville.

·      The ordinance also establishes a septage decant fee for disposal services, as well as a laboratory test fee for customers requesting analysis of their water or wastewater.
