The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Office of Women’s Health, has informed the LCHD/CHC that will receive a grant award for the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) of $586,750 for the period of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. This is an increase of $146,450 over last year’s baseline funding for the IBCCP program. This equates to $61,021 in additional funding for County Fiscal Year 2008. The LCHD/CHC Breast and Cervical Cancer Program has a new assigned caseload of 1,400 Lake County women, up from 1,020 for last state fiscal year.
The additional $61,021 in funding will be used to pay for salaries and benefits for 1.5 new FTE Public Health Assistants to support the additional case load, office and operational supplies, medical fees, mileage, equipment maintenance, postage and printing for the program.
Suggested Motion
To accept $61,021 additional funds for FY 2008 from the above-mentioned funding sources, and if deemed necessary by the Executive Director, to recommend to the County Board an emergency appropriation or line item transfer be approved to allow for expenditure of these funds.
