RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, due to the passing of Vice-Chair Dr. Mary Ross Cunningham on June 23, 2026, there now exists a vacancy in the District 9 County Board seat; and
WHEREAS, the County Board created the Ad Hoc Chair’s Advisory Committee for the District 9 vacancy, appointing County Board Members, Sandy Hart (Chair), Gina Roberts (Member), Diane Hewitt (Member), Angelo Kyle (Member) and the Chair of the Lake County Democrats, Daniel Didech; and
WHEREAS, the Ad Hoc Committee interviewed candidates and recommended the appointment of Brandon X. Ewing to represent District 9 on the County Board to serve for the remainder of the county board session, December 6, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the County Board Chair recommends the appointment of Brandon X. Ewing to fill the vacancy in the District 9 County Board Seat.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Brandon X. Ewing is hereby appointed as the District 9 representative on the Lake County Board for a term beginning immediately and ending December 7, 2026 upon the swearing in of the duly elected Board Member.
