Resolution setting the compensation for certain County-wide elected office holders.
Staff Summary
· Pursuant to State Statute, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials no less than six months before those officials take office.
· At this time, it is necessary to set compensation for the Circuit Court Clerk, Coroner and Recorder of Deeds for the Fiscal Years 2013 through 2016.
Body
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the compensation of the Circuit Court Clerk, Coroner and Recorder of Deeds; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Government Officer Compensation Act, 50 ILCS 145/2, the County Board must fix the compensation for elected officials at least 180 days before the beginning of the term of the officers whose compensation is to be fixed; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the Circuit Court Clerk, Coroner and Recorder of Deeds for the term of December 2012 through November 2016; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the annual salary for the Circuit Court Clerk, Coroner and Recorder of Deeds elected on November 6, 2012 and to take office on December 1, 2012, shall be as follows for the years indicated:
For the Fiscal Year 2013: $119,326 per annum
For the Fiscal Year 2014: $121,713 per annum
For the Fiscal Year 2015: $121,713 per annum
For the Fiscal Year 2016: $121,713 per annum
