Staff Summary
·      2011 Thermoplastic Pavement Markings for Bituminous Pavements: Appropriation.
·      The County has miles of pavement markings for medians, lane lines, and cross walks on bituminous pavements. These markings last longer than paint but eventually require replacement.
·      This replacement project is in the 2011 program.
·      Before a project letting can be held an appropriation of $660,000 of Matching Tax funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N
 
WHEREAS, in order to preserve the condition of bituminous pavement markings on various county highway system, the Division of Transportation annually undertakes the removal, replacement or refurbishment of thermoplastic markings on the bituminous pavements of various county highways; and
 
WHEREAS, a survey of the conditions of the above-said thermoplastic pavement markings on bituminous pavements on the county highway system has been completed; and
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $660,000 of Matching Tax funds for the 2011 removal, replacement or refurbishment of thermoplastic pavement markings on the bituminous pavements of various county highways and designated as Section 11-00000-18-GM.
