R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Delany Road, County Highway 22, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Delany Road could be improved by reconstruction, widening, the installation of permanent traffic control signals and the construction of detention and compensatory flood plain areas; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide construction inspection engineering services for said proposed reconstruction and widening; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, Ciorba Group, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said construction inspection engineering services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this Lake County Board, that Ciorba Group, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, be employed to provide said construction inspection engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement, a draft copy of said agreement attached hereto, for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Ciorba Group, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, at a maximum cost of $814,113.96.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $975,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for these construction inspection engineering services designated as Section 00-00093-18-WR.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
