RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Department of Public Works owns and operates the Rollins Road Pump Station, which provides sanitary sewer service to residents and businesses in unincorporated Lake County within portions of the Townships of Lake Villa, Avon, and Grant; and
WHEREAS, the pump station conveys wastewater to the Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility via a 20-inch force main pipe that has reached the end of its service life; and
WHEREAS, to ensure continued reliable and effective sanitary sewer service, this force main pipe requires replacement with a more durable and adequately sized pipe; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication of the Rollins Road Force Main Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, Berger Contractors, Inc. is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $2,222,426.30 for the Base Bid and $111,000 for Alternate #1 Bid, with a total contract amount of $2,333,426.30; and this project is included in the approved 2026 Public Works Capital Improvement Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Berger Contractors, Inc., Wauconda, Illinois in the amount of $2,333,426.30 for the Rollins Road Force Main Replacement Project.
