• Lake County ETSB desires to enter into a contract with Chicago Communications LLC, Elmhurst, IL to upgrade the existing Plant CML 911 switches at the Lake County Sheriff facility and Wauconda facility and enter into a service contract for the maintenance of the Plant CML 911 switches for the Sheriff, Wauconda, Island Lake, Antioch and Lake Zurich facilities.
• Invitations to Bid were sent to seven vendors and bids were received from three (3) vendors.
• Chicago Communications LLC is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
• Other bids received ranged from $158,790 to $465,130.25.
• This contract will cost the ETSB $133,299.37 and will be charged to account #910-9000010-84030-000-000-000-0000.

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Purchasing Ordinance of Lake County, IL bids were called for by publication to upgrade the existing Plant CML 911 switches at the Lake County Sheriff facility and Wauconda facility and a service contract for the maintenance of the Plant CML 911 switches for the Sheriff, Wauconda, Island Lake, Antioch and Lake Zurich facilities; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to seven (7) vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from three (3) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Chicago Communications LLC, Elmhurst, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $133,299.37; other bids were received from Radicom, Inc., McHenry, IL, $158,790, and Emergency All Worx, Madison, AL $465,130.25.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with Chicago Communications LLC, Elmhurst, IL, to upgrade the existing Plant CML 911 switches at the Lake County Sheriff facility and Wauconda facility and enter into a Service Contract for the maintenance of the Plant CML 911 switches for the Sheriff, Wauconda, Island Lake, Antioch and Lake Zurich facilities in the total amount of $133,299.37 charging the costs to account #910-9000010-84030-000-000-000-0000 and requests its adoption.
