Body
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department is authorized to enforce a local ordinance regulating Animal Care and Control to protect the public’s health and safety; and
WHEREAS, the ordinance that authorizes this enforcement, Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article X (Animal Care and Control) also authorizes the Lake County Health Department to assess and collect fees for rabies tags and/or other services described in this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, these fees are established in Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII (Animal Care and Control Fees); and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department is proposing amendments to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII in conjunction with changes to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article X; and
WHEREAS, the changes proposed coincide with proposed revisions to Article X, the Illinois Animal Control Act or Illinois State Statute; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board of Health has approved the proposed amendments to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board of Health has recommended that the proposed amendments to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII be referred to the County Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the amendments to Lake County Board of Health Ordinance Article XVII herewith be approved and made a matter of Lake County law.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the Lake County Clerk is hereby authorized to distribute certified copies of the amended Ordinance to the County Administrator, Comptroller, and the Executive Director of the Lake County Health Department.
