R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Quentin Road, County Highway 5, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Year 2020 Transportation Priority Plan includes a component that addresses the needs of bicyclists by proposing a countywide trunk system of facilities; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide for the free flow of traffic and ensure the safety of the public, the Village of Deer Park proposes to improve the sub-regional bike path along Quentin Road by constructing a section of bike path adjacent to Quentin Road, between Long Grove Road and Field Parkway, as identified in the Lake County 2020 Transportation Priority Plan; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the Village of Deer Park are desirous of entering into an agreement providing the terms and conditions for the above-said improvement, a draft copy attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required for the County's financial participation in this improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to execute an agreement pertaining to the financing of the above-named improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County's financial participation, for the proposed construction of a section of bike path adjacent to Quentin Road from Long Grove Road to Field Parkway, shall be limited to $70,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $70,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds are appropriated for the County's portion of the improvement, and designated as Section 13-00051-09-BT.
