R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, King Drive, County Highway 54, Wadsworth Road, County Highway 17, Stearns School Road, County Highway 74, Delany Road, County Highway 22, Kilbourne Road, County Highway 37, 21st Street, County Highway 67, and Russell Road, County Highway 19, are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois proposes to improve the intersections of US Rte 41 at King Drive, Wadsworth Road and Stearn School Road; IL Rte 173 at Delany Road and Kilbourne Road; and IL Rte 131 at 21st Street and Russell Road, by modernization of the existing traffic control signals; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois will utilize federal highway funding for this improvement; and
WHEREAS, the county portion of said improvement is for the prorated local share by jurisdiction on approach leg; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for said improvements; a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement for the improvement at the intersections of US Rte 41 at King Drive, Wadsworth Road and Stearn School Road; IL Rte 173 at Delany Road and Kilbourne Road; and IL Rte 131 at 21st Street and Russell Road and such authorization shall include any subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk and grant plan and specification approval to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $20,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 11-00999-21-TL.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
