•                     Pursuant to Chapter 33.066 Bid Exemption of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Purchasing Agent has made a determination that there is only one single source approved as an authorized dealer for the region.

•                     This agreement provides for the annual maintenance and repair of this critical equipment.

•                     Due to unanticipated repairs, expenditures exceeded the public procurement threshold in Fiscal Year 2023, therefore Lake County developed a term contract for future contract purchases.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Division of Transportation has utilized Standard Equipment for parts and service of our sewer vacuum trucks; and

WHEREAS, the sewer vacuum trucks are used by the Division of Transportation and Public works to perform routine and emergency maintenance on County highways and sanitary systems; and

WHEREAS, Standard Equipment Company, is the sole source provider for service and repairs to the sewer vacuum trucks; and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Chapter 33.066 Bid Exemption of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Purchasing Agent has made a determination that there is only one single source approved as an authorized dealer for the region; and

WHEREAS, this agreement provides for the annual maintenance and repair of this critical equipment.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with Standard Equipment Company, Elmhurst, Illinois, annually for up to five years for the service and repairs of the sewer vacuum trucks; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the unanticipated repair expense from Fiscal Year 2023 in the amount of $46,875.88 is ratified.
