WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, there was an emergency need to replace elevator controllers in elevator numbers 1 and 2 at Winchester House; and
WHEREAS, the Facilities Management did not have the resources available to repair the elevator controllers; and
WHEREAS, the Facilities Manager has certified that an emergency condition existed necessitating immediate action to maintain safety of the residents; and
WHEREAS, the Facility Manager secured a proposal from the County elevator maintenance contractor, Lakeland Larsen of Waukegan, IL; and
WHEREAS, the proposal was reviewed and determined to be reasonable by the County independent elevator consultant, Performance Elevator, LLC of Mequon WI; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent issued an emergency purchase order for the controller repair; and
WHEREAS, the work also includes the installation of plunger gripper devices that function is to prevent elevator free-fall in the event of failure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Emergency Procurement authorized by the Facilities Manager with Lakeland Larsen Elevator Corporation of Waukegan, IL in the amount of $169,900 to replace elevator controllers and install plunger gripper devices in elevator numbers 1 and 2 at Winchester House charging the total cost to account # 101-1103285-82020-000-000-000-11160 is ratified.
