RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office has renewed a 12-month continuation of the Violent Crime Victim Assistance (VCVA) grant for the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center (LCCAC) program to provide Spanish speaking forensic interviews and advocacy services to child victims of crime during the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the emergency appropriation for the grant funds of $82,000 are awarded to the LCCAC, an Illinois not-for-profit as a charitable organization subject to Illinois’ Charitable Trust Act and will provide the salary and partial benefits for the existing Bilingual Victim Advocate/Forensic Interviewer;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the renewal as described herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Program Agreement with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office for the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center to provide forensic interviews and advocacy to child victims as set forth by the National Children’s Alliance Standards, for the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $82,000 is hereby authorized in the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center approved FY 2024 budget; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all revenue and expenditure accounts to be appropriated as detailed on the attached financial spreadsheet and allocated to CAC VCVA Grant Management Center 3304030; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center in conjunction with the State’s Attorney’s Office shall serve as the project director for the program, and accurate records of all necessary grant compliance requirements shall be kept by the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Board and Lake County Treasurer are hereby authorized to execute the necessary documentation to accept the grant renewal.
