Committee action approving Job Order Contract project exceeding $350,000 for the Mundelein Branch Courthouse fire alarm replacement project in a not to exceed amount of $350,000.

 

Staff Summary

                     Lake County established Lake County Policy, 3.9, Job Order Contract (JOC) Policy in December 2023 that states all unplanned JOC project job orders exceeding a threshold of $350,000 require approval of the Finance and Administrative Committee prior to project job order execution.

                     As part of the Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Budget Process and Facilities Capital Improvement Plan, the Mundelein Branch Courthouse fire alarm replacement project was authorized under a Joint Purchase Agreement.

                     The fire alarm replacement project upgrades of end-of-life fire alarm systems and installs of a new fire alarm panel, fire alarm devices, as well as associated lighting and ceiling material.

                     Given the complexity of the scope of work, Facilities and Construction Services determined the use of the Job Order Contract was in the best interest of Lake County.

                     This Committee Action authorizes the use of the Job Order Contract in the not to exceed amount of $350,000 for the Mundelein Branch Courthouse fire alarm replacement.
