RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Winchester Road, County Highway 69, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Lake County believes it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the traveling public to improve the intersection of Winchester Road and Illinois Route 83, inclusive of new traffic signals and turn lanes; and
WHEREAS, Phase III professional geotechnical engineering services are required for these improvements; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide these Phase III professional geotechnical engineering services; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, SEECO Consultants Inc., Tinley Park, Illinois, are consultant engineers skilled in the provision of these Phase III professional geotechnical engineering services; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and hereby directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement, and any amendments, between Lake County and SEECO Consultants Inc., Tinley Park, Illinois, at a maximum amount of $42,965, for Phase III professional geotechnical engineering services, for intersection improvements at Winchester Road and Illinois Route 83, inclusive of new traffic signals and turn lanes, a draft copy of which is attached hereto; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further board action providing the final contract cost chargeable to the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $52,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these Phase III professional geotechnical engineering services, and designated as Section 16-00170-13-CH.
