                     The bridge deck beams of the bridge for northbound traffic need to be

Replaced and consulting engineering services will be utilized to design the

                     replacement of the beams.

                     The selected and recommended consultant is MACTEC Engineering

                     and Consulting Inc., Chicago, IL at a cost of services of $38,920.

                     The appropriation is $45,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 05-00193-04-BR.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, Arlington Heights Road (County Highway 79) is a designated route on the county highway system; and 

 

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the bridge deck beams of the bridge carrying northbound Arlington Heights Road over Buffalo Creek could be replaced; and 

 

WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase I engineering services (Design Engineering); and

 

                     WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and  

 

WHEREAS, MACTEC, Chicago, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering).

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that MACTEC, Chicago, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering), and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for consultant engineering services between Lake County and MACTEC, Chicago, Illinois. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.  

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is herby appropriated $45,000.00 of County Bridge Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 05-00193-04-BR.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated herein does not exceed the appropriation aforesaid.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement when executed in its final form be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
