• This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement with the State of Illinois for this improvement and appropriates $70,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the county’s portion.
• The County share is for the local match for traffic signals.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Washington Street (County Highway 45), Gages Lake Road (County Highway 34) and Center Street (County Highway 77) are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, each of these county highways intersects US Rte. 45; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois proposes to improve US Rte. 45 from Washington Street to north of IL Rt. 120 by widening and reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with said improvements to US Rte. 45 the intersections at Washington Street, Gages Lake Road, and Center Street will be improved by the addition of turn-lanes and the modernization of traffic control signals along with interconnection to PASSAGE; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for the above-said improvements, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute an agreement pertaining to the financing to the above-named improvement. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing, the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the County Board and the County Clerk and grant plan and specification approval to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $70,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 2-00999-00-TL.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement, when executed, in its final form be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
