R E S O L U T I O N
 
WHEREAS, Washington Street, County Highway 45, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
      
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Washington Street is beneficial to the safety and welfare to the State of Illinois and the county as a whole; and
 
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Washington Street from Cemetery Road to West of Six Flags Drive could be improved by widening and reconstruction; and
 
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting of August 11, 2009, authorized the execution of a Phase III construction engineering agreement with Ciorba Group, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, for said Phase III engineering services and appropriated $690,000 of Matching Tax funds to provide for these engineering services; and
 
WHEREAS, it is necessary to expand Phase III engineering services to provide for redesigning retaining walls to avoid utility conflicts not anticipated in the original design at a cost of $10,999.45; and
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute a supplemental agreement for consulting engineering services between Lake County and Ciorba Group, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, providing for said additional engineering services to provide for redesigning retaining walls to avoid utility conflicts not anticipated in the original design at a cost of $10,999.45, a draft copy of which is attached hereto, and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments, as required by IDOT.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement and any subsequent amendments, as required by IDOT, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this supplemental agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
