Staff Summary
• There is a need to retain a qualified engineering firm to provide engineering services to replace the fire alarm system for the Division of Transportation buildings in Libertyville.
• Lake County has a satisfactory relationship with KJWW Engineering Consultants PC of Chicago, Illinois on similar work.
• Facilities Management staff received a proposal from KJWW Engineering Consultants, PC for the provision of code review and design services, production of construction bidding documents, bidding assistance and construction administrative services and negotiated a fixed fee contract in the amount of $64,500 plus reimbursables.
• It is in the best interest of the County to enter into a contract with KJWW Engineering of Chicago, Illinois.
• This contract for engineering services is being made in accordance with Section 5-101(3) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et seq).
• The contract will be charged to account 101-1103285-71150-000-000-000-11155.

WHEREAS, there is a need to retain a qualified engineering firm to provide engineering services to replace the fire alarm system for the Division of Transportation buildings in Libertyville, IL; and
WHEREAS, Lake County has a satisfactory relationship with KJWW Engineering Consultants, PC of Chicago, Illinois with similar work; and
WHEREAS, Facilities Management staff received a proposal from KJWW Engineering Consultants, PC for the provision of code review and design services, production of construction bidding documents, bidding assistance and construction administrative services in the amount of $64,500 plus reimbursables; and
WHEREAS, this contract for engineering services is being made in accordance with Section 5-101 (3) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et seq).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby directed to negotiate and enter into a contract with KJWW Engineering Consultants, PC of Chicago, Illinois for Engineering design services for a fire alarm system for Division of Transportation buildings in Libertyville, IL in the amount of $64,500 plus reimbursables not to exceed $1,000, charging account 101-1103285-71150-000-000-000-11155 and request its adoption.
