R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Harris Road presently extends northerly from Peterson Road (County Highway 20) to IL Rte. 137; and
WHEREAS, the extension of Midlothian Road (County Highway 48) has been constructed from Peterson Road to the new Lake County fairground entrance; and
WHEREAS, improvement projects are underway for the completion of the extension of Midlothian Road northerly from the existing Lake County fairground entrance to Moorehead Circle, designated as Section 09-00244-03-FP; and
WHEREAS, the said extension of Midlothian Road will encompass the existing alignment of Harris Road from just south of the Commonwealth Edison power transmission right-of-way northerly to Moorehead Circle and thence north to IL Rte 137; and
WHEREAS, the County desires that the portion of Harris Road that is so incorporated into the extension of Midlothian Road be named “Midlothian Road,” as depicted in the map attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the County desires that that the name of the described Midlothian Road extension (County Highway 48) from Peterson Road to IL Rte. 137 be named “Midlothian Road,” as depicted in the map attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with 55 ILCS 5/5-1067, the County may name or change the name of any road in the county highway system.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Harris Road from just south of the Commonwealth Edison power transmission right-of-way northerly to Moorehead Circle and thence north to IL Rte. 137 is hereby renamed "Midlothian Road."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that that the name of the Midlothian Road extension (County Highway 48) from Peterson Road to IL Rte. 137 be named “Midlothian Road.”
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to notify the landowners adjacent to said roadway, the Village of Grayslake, the Village of Mundelein and the Village of Libertyville, the Lake County Recorder of Deeds, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the United States Post Office and others as deemed necessary of said road name change.
