•                     The State of Illinois will be providing up to $300,000 of Emergency Repair Program which is state capital bond funds towards this improvement.

•                     This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement with the State of Illinois for the state share of this resurfacing and appropriates $515,000 of Matching Tax funds.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Gilmer Road (County Highway 26) is a designated route on the county highway system; and

WHEREAS, Gilmer Road from Diamond Lake Road to IL Rte. 83 will be resurfaced by the county and via a county letting; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois will be providing up to $300,000 of Emergency Repair Program-state capital “Jump Start” bond funds towards this improvement. and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous on entering into an agreement for said improvement; a draft copy of which is attached hereto.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement for the resurfacing of Gilmer Road (Diamond Lake Road to IL Rte. 83).   The County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the County Board and the County Clerk and grant plan and specification approval to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $515,000 of Matching Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 09-00079-15-RS.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
