Staff Summary

•                     Wadsworth Road, Temporary Left-turn Lane at Cambridge Boulevard: Appropriation

•                     Cambridge Boulevard is situated approximately ¼ mile west of Route 131 on Wadsworth Road.

•                     This intersection will be included as part of the future improvement of the intersection of Wadsworth Road at IL Rte. 131.

•                     Current traffic necessitates the construction of a temporary eastbound to northbound left-turn lane.  This left-turn lane will be constructed by contract and by the day labor forces of the Division of Transportation

•                     Before a project letting can be held an appropriation of $40,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for materials is necessary.

Body

                     WHEREAS, Wadsworth Road (County Highway 17) is a designated route of the county highway system; and

                     WHEREAS, the intersection of Wadsworth Road at Cambridge Boulevard will be improved as part of the future improvement of the intersection of Wadsworth Road and Illinois Route 131; and

                     WHEREAS, in order to provide for the free flow of traffic and ensure the safety of the motoring public it is desirable to construct a temporary eastbound to northbound left-turn lane along Wadsworth Road at its intersection with  Cambridge Boulevard; and

                     WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of cost for this temporary improvement have been completed; and

                     WHEREAS, said eastbound to northbound left-turn lane will be constructed by contract and by the day labor forces of the Division of Transportation.

                     NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there is hereby appropriated $40,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the acquisition of materials and services necessary to construct a temporary  eastbound to northbound left-turn lane along Wadsworth Road at its intersection with Cambridge Boulevard and designated as Section 07-00033-15-CH.
