Staff Summary

•                     The Lake County Board approved the replacement of the Countryside Manor Water Tower at their meeting in July 2016.

•                     The structure is in its final stage of completion and Verizon Wireless requested space on the water tower and adjacent property to install, maintain, and operate telecommunications equipment and antennas to provide wireless phone and data services to its customers.

•                     There is a need to enter into a lease agreement to provide Verizon Wireless access to the property at 30109 North Park Lane, Green Oaks, Illinois to install, remove, replace, modify, maintain, and operate the telecommunications equipment.

•                     The lease will provide revenue to Lake County in the amount of $36,000 per year with a 10 percent increase at each five-year renewal period.

•                     It is hereby requested that the County Board Chair be authorized to execute the lease agreement with Verizon Wireless of Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Lake County owns the Countryside Manor Water Tower at 30109 North Park Lane, Green Oaks, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Verizon Wireless requested space to install, maintain, and operate telecommunications equipment and antennas to provide wireless phone and data services to its customers.

WHEREAS, there is a need to enter into a lease agreement to provide Verizon Wireless access to the property at 30109 North Park Lane, Green Oaks, Illinois to install, remove, replace, modify, maintain, and operate the telecommunications equipment; and

WHEREAS, the telecommunications equipment will be owned by Verizon Wireless; and

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the County Board be authorized to execute a five-year lease agreement with Verizon Wireless of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, to operate and maintain telecommunications equipment at 30109 North Park Lane Green Oaks, Illinois.
