R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wilson Road, County Highway 7, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Grant Township Road District and Lake County believe it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Wilson Road at Nippersink Road could be improved by soil stabilization, correction of super elevation, adding retaining walls, reconstruction, resurfacing and the addition of traffic signals and multi-use paths; and
WHEREAS, this improvement includes the construction of a path along Nippersink Road, resurfacing Nippersink Road and planting trees along Nippersink Road within the limits of the County improvement; and
WHEREAS, the Township will reimburse the County for its share of this improvement, estimated to be $387,531; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the Township are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for the construction of a path along Nippersink Road, resurfacing Nippersink Road, and planting trees along Nippersink Road within the limits of the County improvement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Grant Township Road District approved this agreement on May 24, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the Acting County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement and any subsequent amendments, between Lake County and the Grant Township Road District stating the terms and conditions for the construction of a path along Nippersink Road, resurfacing Nippersink Road, and planting trees along Nippersink Road within the limits of the County improvement, and designated as Section 03-00070-06-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Acting County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
