Staff Summary
• The Wildwood Water System is the second largest of Public Works’ water systems. The Wildwood Water Main Improvements will upgrade critical water mains in various areas in the communities of Idlewild, Dady and Decker.
• The grant amount totaling $959,752 will be provided to Lake County Public Works (LCPW) through the US EPA and only 80 percent of the approved project cost ($1,199,752) will be funded. LCPW funds will support the remaining 20 percent ($240,000).
• The grant term is from September 2, 2024, to September 30, 2029, and was secured through the office of Congressman Brad Schneider.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works Department has received a grant from Community Project Funding through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Community Grants Projects; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide construction funding to Lake County Public Works for the Wildwood Water Main Improvements upgrade of critical water mains in various areas in the communities of Idlewild, Dady and Decker; and
WHEREAS, this grant amount totaling $959,752 has been awarded by the US EPA at 80 percent of the total project cost ($1,199,752); and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works enterprise funds will be used to support the remaining 20 percent of the project cost, and the grant term is from September 2, 2024, to September 30, 2029.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the amount of $959,752 is hereby accepted and appropriated for the Lake County Public Works Department and the 20 percent cost sharing amount ($240,000) is also appropriated for this project.
