RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office has a need to purchase 176 APX8500 Starcom radios and accessories to replace 156 mobile VHF radios and 20 Starcom radios purchased in 2016; and
WHEREAS, the APX8500 Starcom radios enable seamless, inter-operable communications among state, local and federal government users; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of 176 APX8500 mobile radios will be financed through Illinois State Contract 37987 - STARCOM 21, IL CMT2028589, a municipal lease program over five years with five annual payments of $365,873.09; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 33.115 of the County’s Purchasing Ordinance, Cooperative Joint Purchasing Authorized, the County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement for the procurement of goods, services, construction, or professional services with one or more public procurement units in accordance with an agreement entered into between the participants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with Motorola Solutions, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, for the purchase of 176 APX8500 radios and accessories for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $1,829,365.45, or $365,873.09, per year for five years, in accordance with the attached agreement.
