• LCDOT received and evaluated Statements of Interest and Qualifications from 18 professional firms, of which three were short-listed and presented to a consultant selection committee.
• This project is included in the Transportation Improvement Program and designated as Section 24-00189-06-CH.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Center Street, County Highway 77, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, Lake County believes it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the traveling public if the intersection of Center Street and Atkinson Road could be improved, inclusive of a new multi-use path; and
WHEREAS, Phase I professional engineering services are required for these improvements; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide these Phase I professional engineering services; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., Rosemont, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of these Phase I professional engineering services; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. be employed to provide said professional engineering services for a maximum cost of $1,526,891, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and hereby directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, a draft copy of said agreement attached hereto, for consultant engineering services with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $1,835,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services, and designated as Section 24-00189-06-CH; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further board action, providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
