Joint resolution to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Diamond Lake School District 76 (“District 76”) regarding the Oak Terrace Water System improvements.

 

Staff Summary

                     The County owns, operates, and maintains the West Oak Middle School water system.

                     As part of the West Oak Middle School Water System rehabilitation project, a new well and above ground storage tank and treatment system will be constructed on the School property to serve the school systems. In addition, the Oak Terrace Water System will be combined with the West Oak Middle School system.

                     District 76 is supportive of the project and approved the IGA at its January 19, 2021 Board Meeting.

                     District 76 will be invoiced by the County for its water usage on a bi-monthly basis.

                     The Intergovernmental Agreement establishes the terms and conditions upon which the project facilities must be constructed, maintained, and operated.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates, and maintains the West Oak Middle School water system; and

 

WHEREAS, the water system serves the school and is scheduled to be rehabilitated; and

 

WHEREAS, a new well and above ground storage tank and treatment system will be constructed on the West Oak Middle School property to serve the school systems; and allow for the consolidation of the Oak Terrace Water System

 

WHEREAS; an Intergovernmental Agreement that establishes the terms and conditions upon which the project facilities must be constructed, maintained, and operated has been executed by the Diamond Lake School District 76, and

 

WHEREAS, execution of said Agreement must be authorized by Resolution of this County Board.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the County Board and the Clerk of said County are hereby authorized and directed to execute the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Diamond Lake School District 76 Regarding the Oak Terrace Water System Improvements.
