Staff Summary

•                     There is a need to provide ongoing technical and safety training for the workforce to be effective and safe. Training is provided on the use of specialized equipment, policy, and procedures while performing work in difficult environment, i.e., confined spaces and trenches. The Training Conference Room is also used by other departments for meetings/trainings.

•                     Purchasing identified a cooperative purchasing contract with Conference Technologies, Inc of Itasca, Illinois, through a Joint Purchasing contract.

•                     Pursuant to Article 33.115 Cooperative Joint Purchasing of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, Lake County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement.

•                     This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute a contract with Conference Technologies, Inc, Itasca, Ilinois, in the amount of $43,538.70 for technology equipment and services to standardize and upgrade the Public Works Maintenance Training Conference Room.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works Maintenance Training Conference Room is used for meetings/trainings by several departments, and

WHEREAS, there is a need for the standardization and upgrades for the audio/visual equipment in the Public Works Maintenance Training Conference Room; and

WHEREAS, ongoing technical and safety training for the workforce is essential to ensure effective and safe work performance; and

WHEREAS, Purchasing identified a cooperative purchasing contract with Conference Technologies, Inc of Itasca, Illinois, through a Joint Purchasing contract; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 33.115 Cooperative Joint Purchasing of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, Lake County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Conference Technologies, Inc, Itasca, Illinois, in the amount of $43,538.70 to standardize and upgrade the audio/visual equipment in the Public Works Maintenance Training Conference Room.
