R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Purchasing Ordinance of Lake County, Illinois bids were called for by publication for Fence Replacement for 11 (eleven) locations for the Division of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to nine (9) vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from three (3) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Custom Built Commercial Fence., Park Ridge IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the estimated amount of $47,624.08; the estimate is calculated by multiplying the estimated number of lineal feet of fencing by the unit price bid; the actual expenditure may vary based on actual fencing required. Other bids were received from Action Fence Contractors Inc., Mundelein, IL - $70,933.30 and a non-responsive bid from Masterbilt Fence, Waukegan, IL - $39,984.80.
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, by prior resolution at its meeting of August 12, 2008, appropriated $50,000.00 of Matching Tax funds to provide maintenance of Stormwater basins, signing and fence replacements along county highways and designated as Section 08-00000-15-GM; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Custom Built Commercial Fence, Park Ridge, IL, for Fence Replacements for 11 (eleven) locations for the Division of Transportation in the estimated amount of $47,624.28 for one year plus renewals, charging account 234-4300030-85020-000-000-000-00000; and request its adoption.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that inasmuch as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 without further Board action, providing the final cost chargeable in the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
