Staff Summary

                     Lake County Public Works owns and operates an extensive wastewater system and three water reclamation facilities.

                     There is a need for inspection on the odor control units and replacement of aged activated carbon media.

                     The County received bids from three contractors for this work, ranging from $380,644.49 to $756,620. Evoqua Water Technologies was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who best meets the needs of the County in an estimated amount of $380,644.49.

                     The contract has a two-year term period with the opportunity to extend for three one-year periods.

                     This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing agent to execute a contract with Evoqua Water Technologies, Sarasota, Florida, in the amount of $380,644.49 annually for media changeout and professional services.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates an extensive wastewater system and three water reclamation facilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the odor control units in the wastewater system need to be inspected and have the aged activated carbon media replaced on an on-going basis; and

 

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for replacement of media used for odor control units; and

 

WHEREAS, three sealed bids were received and Evoqua Water Technologies, Sarasota, Florida, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the estimated amount of $380,644.49 annually.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a two-year contract with Evoqua Water Technologies, Sarasota, Florida, in the estimated amount of $380,644.49 annually for media changeout and professional services.
