R E S O L U T I O N
 
      WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Board of Lake County, the County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids by publication for the joint repair and pavement grinding of Arlington Heights Road and Buffalo Grove Road and the addition of a southbound thru-lane on Buffalo Grove Road from Deerfield Parkway to IL Rte. 83 and designated as Section 08-00999-02-RP; and
 
      WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on May 19, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois, a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

      WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the County Engineer, and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Vixen Construction, Inc., Bridgeview, Illinois their bid being $2,379,085.70 based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
      
      WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, by prior resolution at it's meeting of April 14, 2009 appropriated $3,070,000 of the ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety for improvement of the aforesaid section.
 
      NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a contract be awarded to said, Vixen Construction, Inc., Bridgeview, Illinois in accordance with their bid being $2,379,085.70 based on estimated quantities and unit prices and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County be authorized, and they are hereby directed, to enter into a contract with said low bidder for the joint repair and pavement grinding of Arlington Heights Road and Buffalo Grove Road and the addition of a southbound thru-lane on Buffalo Grove Road from Deerfield Parkway to IL Rte. 83 and designated as Section 08-00999-02-RP.
 
      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time these quantities may be added to, deducted from or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 without further Board action provided the final cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
