• The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a Program Year 2010 grant under the Workforce Investment Act to the Lake County Workforce Development Department in the amount of $4,683,098, which is a reduction of $869,818 from the current year’s allocation.
• The Department of Labor reduced allocations to Illinois and these reductions were passed on to the local areas.
• The grant is for the fiscal year July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, which includes funding for adults, dislocated and incumbent workers, and youth.
• A reduction in the Workforce Development Department’s budget appropriation in the amount of $869,818 is requested to be approved and that the Board authorize acceptance of the grant in the amount of $4,683,098.

WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a Program Year 2010 grant under the Workforce Investment Act to the Lake County Workforce Development Department which is a reduction of $869,818; and
WHEREAS, the total grant for Lake County Workforce Development is $4,683,098, and
WHEREAS, this grant is for the fiscal year July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, and will be used to provide funding for adults, dislocated workers, incumbent workers and youth; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to approve a reduction in the Workforce Development Department appropriation of $869,818 and to authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a reduction in the Workforce Development Department appropriation of $869,818 hereby approved and that the Workforce Investment Act Grant in the amount of $4,683,098 be accepted. A chart of accounts is attached.
