WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for a Back-Up Generator System for Maintenance Bldg “A” at the Division of Transportation ; and
WHEREAS, invitations for bids were extended to eight (8) vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from nine (9) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Benson Electric Inc. of Waukegan, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for a Back-Up Generator System in the amount of $78,255; other bids were received from Aldridge Electric, Libertyville, IL in the amount of $78,622; Kelso-Burnett, Gurnee, IL in the amount of $80,156; Benson Electric , Waukegan IL in the amount of $82,526 (alternate bid); Homestead, Ingleside, IL in the amount of $82,965; Homestead, Ingleside, IL in the amount of $89,065 (alternate bid); J.J. Henderson, Gurnee, IL in the amount of $93,500; American Electric, Schaumburg, IL in the amount of $99,900; Public Electric, Wheeling, IL in the amount of $108,855; Meade Electric, Lake Villa, IL in the amount of $109,469 and Storage Battery Systems, Menomonee Falls, WI in the amount of $113,345.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Benson Electric Inc. of Waukegan, IL for a Back-Up Generator System for Maintenance Bldg “A” at the Division of Transportation in the amount of $78,255.00 charging account 214-4300050-82010-000-000-000-00000.
