WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Purchasing Ordinance of Lake County, IL bids were called for by publication for the installation of Full Height Furniture Wall Systems in the remodeled Public Defender’s Offices; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to 6 contractors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from 4 contractors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Corporate Express Business Interiors, A Staples Company, Woodridge, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $132,523.08; other bids received ranged in the amount of $157,161.75 to $228,917.00.
WHEREAS, Corporate Express Business Interiors quoted a firm discount from the current manufacturer’s published price for various furniture wall systems projects throughout Lake County for a one-year period with renewal options.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Corporate Express Business Interiors, A Staples Company, Woodridge, Lisle, IL in the amount of $132,523.08 for the installation of Full Height Furniture Wall Systems, charging the cost thereof to account 101-1103265-82020-000-000-000-00000 and to award a one year contract with renewal options for future wall system projects as required, and request its adoption.
