WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Purchasing Ordinance of Lake County, IL bids were called for by publication for Interior and Exterior Improvements to the Coroner Offices; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to eight (8) vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from eight (8) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Monday, August 21, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Boller Construction Co., Inc, Waukegan, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $ 94,600.00; other bids were received from Happ Builders, Waukegan, IL, $ 98,400.00, Car-Min Construction Co., Waukegan, IL $ 109,300.00, Rasch Construction & Engineering, Kenosha, WI, $ 116,850.00, Stuckey Construction Co., Waukegan, IL $ 120,000.00, Construction Solutions of Illinois, Inc., Alsip, IL $ 120,723.00, Chicagoland Building Contractors, Addison, IL, $ 124,975.00 and R. Rudnick & Co., Wheeling, IL $ 162,944.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, authorizing the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement with Boller Construction Co., Inc, Waukegan., IL, for Interior and Exterior Improvements to the Coroner’s Offices in the total amount of $ 94,600.00 charging the Interior Improvement cost of $ 32,300.00 to account #101-1103355-82020-000-000-000-11173 and Exterior Improvement cost of $ 62,300.00 to account #101-1220030-72250-036-000-000-00000 and requests its adoption.
