Staff Summary
• Lake County desires to enter into a contract for Engineering Services for the Libertyville Campus Access and Infrastructure Improvement Project that was approved as part of the 2010 CCIP.
• Negotiations were conducted for Engineering Services related to Libertyville Access and Infrastructure Improvements in accordance with Sections 5-101 (3) and 6-102 (b) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act.
• It has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to enter into a contract with Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. of Rosemont, Illinois at a reasonable compensation.
• The services will include engineering related to the roadway extension to complete the primary loop road on the Libertyville Campus, utility and infrastructure design to address future campus development needs, roadway lighting design for the entire access road system, and site engineering work related to the shared storage facility to be developed on the Libertyville Campus. All engineering design and planning shall be in accordance with the Libertyville Campus Planned Unit Development.
• This contract will cost the County $90,200 and is being funded through the 2010 CCIP.

WHEREAS, Lake County desires to enter into a contract for Engineering Services for the Libertyville Campus Access and Infrastructure Improvement Project that was approved as part of the 2010 CCIP; and
WHEREAS, negotiations were conducted for Engineering Services related to the Libertyville Campus Access and Infrastructure Improvements in accordance with Sections 5-101 (3) and 6-102 (b) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance and the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to enter into a contract with Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. of Rosemont, Illinois at a reasonable compensation taking into account scope, complexity, and the nature of services to be rendered; and
WHEREAS, The services will include engineering related to the roadway extension to complete the primary loop road on the Libertyville Campus, utility and infrastructure design to address future campus development needs, roadway lighting design for the entire access road system, and site engineering work related to the shared storage facility to be developed on the Libertyville Campus. All engineering design and planning shall be in accordance with the Libertyville Campus Planned Unit Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Purchasing Agent is hereby directed to enter into a contract with Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. in the amount of $90,200 to provide Engineering Services related to the Libertyville Campus Access and Infrastructure Improvements, charging the costs thereof the account # 101-1103040-85070-000-000-000-00000.
