WHEREAS, the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority has announced the continuation of a 12 month grant for the State’s Attorney’s Prosecutor-Based Victim Services program to provide advocacy services to victims of violent crimes during the period October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the grant program will fund a portion of salary for a full-time (job-shared) victim assistance counselor in the Felony Review Division, and a portion of salary for a full-time Spanish speaking counselor in the Felony Trial Division; and
WHEREAS, the grant budget of $152,657 for grant-allocated salary, fringe and indirect cost is comprised of $45,482 in federal funds, $7,755 State’s Attorney Asset Forfeiture account funds, and $99,420 from the State’s Attorney’s budget; and
WHEREAS, $60,569 in federal fund revenue was originally appropriated to account #101-3311010-49910 in the FY2008 budget for this Program; and
WHEREAS, it should be noted that the total Program budget including salary, fringe and indirect cost is $205,731, of which the County provides $152,494 in costs not covered by the grant; and
WHEREAS, the grant must be formally accepted by the County of Lake.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Program Agreement #208077 with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority for the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Prosecutor-Based Victim Services program in the amount of $152,657 for the period October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009, is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Board, the Lake County State’s Attorney, and the Lake County Treasurer are hereby authorized to execute the necessary documentation in order to accept the grant; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the revenue line item 101-3311010-49910 be reduced by $15,087 and $45,472 will be deposited in same account; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the State’s Attorney shall serve as project director for the program, and accurate records of all necessary grant compliance requirements shall be kept by the State’s Attorney Office.
