RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County advertised nationally for the vacant position of Lake County Chief Information Technology Officer; and
WHEREAS, over 70 applications from across the country submitted their credentials for consideration; and
WHEREAS, following the initial screening process, the Deputy County Administrator formed an Executive panel and a Staff panel consisting of representatives of various departments, along with the Deputy County Administrator and the Chair of the Financial and Administrative Services Committee; and
WHEREAS, the panels interviewed seven finalists for the position and provided an analysis of each candidate to the Deputy County Administrator, selecting Chris Blanding as the best candidate for the position; and
WHEREAS, a complete background check has been completed for Mr. Blanding; and
WHEREAS, the County Administrator has consulted with the Chairman of the Board and hereby recommends the appointment of Chris Blanding as Lake County Chief Information Technology Officer; and
WHEREAS, a conditional offer has been extended to Mr. Blanding pursuant to the terms of the letter attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Blanding has accepted the offer pending appointment by this County Board; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Chris Blanding be appointed Lake County Chief Information Technology Officer at an annual salary of $175,000, with other terms and conditions of employment outlined in the Letter of Acceptance; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said appointment shall take effect on June 26, 2017.
