Committee action approving Contract Modification Number One with Appin Associates, Winnipeg, Canada for the continued building automation system services for the Lake County Regional Operations and Communications Facility, in the amount of $47,082.20.

 

Staff Summary

                     As part of the Modified FY 2021 Budget and in alignment with the Facilities Capital Improvement Plan, design of a new Consolidated 911, Emergency Management Agency (EMA), and Emergency Telephone Systems Board (ETSB) Facility was authorized. 

                     Lake County Board authorized a contract with Appin Associates on October 11, 2022, for building automation system services for the Lake County Regional Operations and Communications (ROC) Facility in the amount of $170,168.80.

                     This modification is to support the County’s decision to LEED Certify, accept the ICECF Net Zero Energy Building Grant, and install a Photovoltaic Array, to comply with these requirements additional design and review work is necessary.

                     The original Agreement, awarded in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. Seq, anticipated subsequent services to be approved by the appropriate Lake County staff and/or the Lake County Board Committee and executed as a modification. 

                     In accordance with Section 33.082 of the Lake County Purchasing

Ordinance, this contract modification is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interest of Lake County, it is hereby requested that the

Purchasing Agent be authorized to enter into Contract Modification Number One.

                     This Committee Action authorizes Contract Modification Number One with Appin Associates, in the not to exceed amount of $47,082.20 for the continued building automation system services for the Lake County ROC facility increasing the contract from $170,168.80 to $217,251.

1.                     On October 11, 2022, the County Board authorized a contract for building automation system services for the Lake County Regional Operations and Communications (ROC) Facility in the amount of $170,168.80.

 

2.                     This modification is to support the County’s decision to LEED Certify, accept the ICECF Net Zero Energy Building Grant, and install a Photovoltaic Array. To comply with these requirements additional design and review work is necessary.

 

3.                     The original Agreement, awarded in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et.
