R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Lake County Board, the County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, for the reconstruction, widening, installation of permanent traffic control signals, excavation of a 22 acre detention pond and installing storm sewer and culverts on Delany Road, from York House Road to Wadsworth Road and designated as Section 00-00093-18-WR; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication and calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on December 13, 2011, at 10:00 AM at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois; a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Curran Contracting Company, Crystal Lake, Illinois, in the amount of $7,762,411.72, based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, by prior resolution at its meeting of September 13, 2011, appropriated $2,543,000 of Matching Tax funds, $2,227,500 of Motor Fuel Tax Funds and $5,929,500.000 of ¼% Safety Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for the improvement of the aforesaid section.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that a contract be awarded to said Curran Contracting Company, Crystal Lake, Illinois, in the amount of $7,762,411.72, based on estimated quantities and unit prices, and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to enter into a contract with said low bidder to provide for the reconstruction and widening of Delany Road from York House Road to Wadsworth Road and designated as Section 00-00093-18-WR.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 without further Board action, providing the final cost chargeable to the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
