RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the County is the owner of record of certain real property located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Winchester Road and Illinois Route 21 in Libertyville, Illinois, commonly referred to as the Libertyville Campus; and
WHEREAS, Winchester Road, County Highway 69, is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the existing Winchester Road right-of-way along the Libertyville Campus property was never formally established and needs to be dedicated; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Division of Transportation installed a shared-use path on the north side of Winchester Road along the frontage of the Libertyville Campus; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has an upcoming project to improve ADA accommodations at the intersection of Winchester Road and Illinois Route 21 that requires a portion of Libertyville Campus property at the northwest corner of the intersection; and
WHEREAS, Lake County is desirous of dedicating property, for public road purposes, from the Libertyville Campus to formally establish the Winchester Road right-of-way, provide for the recently constructed shared-use path, and to accommodate IDOT’s upcoming ADA improvement project, in accordance with the Right-of-Way Parcel Plat prepared by Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., dated August 13, 2026, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the above referenced Winchester Road right-of-way dedication is approved and that the County Engineer of Lake County is authorized and hereby directed to execute the Right-of-Way Parcel Plat prepared by Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., dated August 13, 2026, and any other documents necessary to complete the dedication.
